Exact astronomical calculations regarding the beginning of the month of Ramadan for the year 1445 Hijri confirm that the new moon will occur at 09:01 GMT on Sunday, 10.3.2024, i.e., 29th of Sha’ban 1445 H, i.e., at 12:01 local time in Mecca. On the same day, the crescent moon can be seen after sunset in North and South America on a large scale. Thus, this year, the month of Sha’ban has 29 days.
According to this calculation, the blessed month of Ramadan of the year 1445 Hijri begins on Monday, 11.3.2024
The Isha and Tarawih prayers will be held in both mosques (Černý Most, Národní třída) immediately after the Isha Azan, including the first night of Ramadan. A communal Iftar will be held every day in both mosques, and all Muslims are invited.
