The Islamic Foundation in Prague wishes all Muslims all the best for Eid al-Fitr, the breaking of the fast, and a wonderful experience, and announces:
Accurate astronomical calculations regarding the beginning of the month of Shawwal for the year 1444 AH confirm that the new will occur at 04:13 GMT on Thursday 20/4/2023, i.e. 29 Ramadan 1444 AH, i.e. 07:13 Makkah local time. And therefore the crescent moon can be seen on Thursday 20.4.2023 (With the naked eye in North America and the northern and central parts of South America in the case of a clean atmosphere and with a telescope in West Africa and Europe with a telescope and monitoring devices)
So the month of Ramadan will be 29 days.
According to this, the 1st day of the month of Shawwal (Eid Al-Fitr) in the year 1443 AH will be on Friday 21 April 2023
Eid prayer will be held at 8:30 in both mosques:
– Blatská 1491, Prague 9
– Opatovická 18, Prague 1 (Národní třída)
The Eid al-Fitr celebration will be held in the mosque (Blatská 1491, Prague 9) on the second day of the holiday, Saturday 22 April 2023 from 12:00 p.m., which will include an entertainment program, especially for children, combined with lunch for everyone.
