The Islamic Foundation in Prague extends its warmest congratulations and sincere greetings to all Muslims on the occasion of the blessed holiday of Eid al-Fitr.

According to precise astronomical calculations regarding the hilal (new moon) of the month of Shawwal for the year 1447 AH, the conjunction is expected to occur on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 01:23 GMT, which corresponds to 04:23 Mecca time, on the 29th day of Ramadan 1447 AH.
Based on these calculations, the sighting of the Shawwal hilal is anticipated on Thursday, March 19, 2026, after sunset in parts of North America, the northern regions of South America, and Western Europe, whether by the naked eye or with the assistance of telescopes and other astronomical instruments.
Accordingly, the first day of Shawwal, marking the blessed occasion of Eid al-Fitr for the year 1447 AH, will be Friday, March 20, 2026.
The Eid al-Fitr prayer will be held at the “Černý Most” Mosque (Prague 9) at the following times:
• 7:30 – men only
• 9:00 – families and women
• 10:30 – open to all
